In this class, we will do a paint study of three different species of birds in their natural setting, creating a beautiful motif against blue toned paper. We will be painting with black and white gouache. This will allow us to keep our illustrations simple with grey as a mid-tone, black as our shadow and white as our highlight to create depth and detail. Students will walk away with beautiful artwork they can be proud of, a new understanding for gouache painting, its properties and techniques; and the confidence to continue painting in this medium. This class is great for beginner and intermediate artists alike as Angela will guide students step-by-step through the process. Templates and drawing aids will be provided.
